Hamilton Serbians Youth Soccer Club is a not for profit organization. At the Hamilton Serbians, we have many members from different backgrounds and diversity, outside of the Serbian community

Our History

Hamilton Serbians Youth Soccer Club has been serving the youth community for many years.   The main heart and joy of the club today are the Youth teams: Hamilton Serbians Youth Soccer Club, which has grown over many years to currently serve over 250 youth players from academy programs (for ages 3-7 years) to youth recreational and competitive level teams for boys and girls (ages U8 – and up).

Through our various recreational and competitive programming, we allow players of all levels to be part of the club and enjoy the beautiful game. Our programs often include social events so members can have the full experience!

Adult History

Formed in 1957; and participating in its first soccer season of 1958, the Hamilton Serbians provide a history of accomplishments and successes to its community over the decades. Although a difficult beginning for many immigrant Serbians, the Club succeeded in forming not only a team but a legacy.

By 1962, the initial founding Hamilton Serbians team was the League Champion and finalist for both the Spectator Cup and Ontario Cup titles. Over the years, the Club developed and as a whole has won 12 Spectator Cup Championship titles (1973, 1975, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1998, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014) along with two Ontario Cup championships (1982 & 1998). In the early 1980’s, the club won the Inter-City Soccer League title three years in a row.

After winning the Hamilton and District soccer League in 2003, the club joined the Ontario Soccer League and began competing in the OSL in 2004. In 2005, the Hamilton Serbians became the first Serbian club in Ontario to win the Ontario Regional Soccer League’s League Cup, (Frank Docherty Cup) and the Ontario Regional Soccer League’s League Championship in 2006, 2012, and 2013. The Hamilton Serbians also won the Ontario Provincial Cup Division title for 2007 and have been repeated finalists.

The North American Serbian Championship Tournament “Srbijada” awarded Hamilton Serbians as Tournament Champions two years in a row (2007 Vancouver, 2008 Hamilton).

In 2014, the Hamilton and District Soccer Association inducted our club into the “Hamilton District Soccer Hall of Fame”. This inaugural award for “Club of Distinction” was given to Hamilton Serbians to recognize over 50 years of competitive performance and community dedication. This achievement is shared by hundreds of athletes, coaches, sponsors, volunteers and organizers that have supported and grown our soccer club since 1958.

The Hamilton Serbians soccer club is one of the oldest and longest running amateur soccer organizations in Ontario and the Greater Hamilton area.

The Serbian Community is forever grateful to those men in 1958 for their leadership and initiative to organize the first team of this club’s history. Today, the Hamilton Serbians is still one of the oldest and longest running amateur soccer organizations in Ontario and the Greater Hamilton area.

Our community extends its thanks to all of the men and women members, volunteers, coaches, fans and generous sponsors, for supporting Hamilton Serbians soccer over the decades.

To honour this soccer legacy into the future, the Hamilton Serbians soccer organization looks forward to your ongoing support and leadership as a community, to uphold the top amateur men’s soccer team status, and to continuously develop the youth grassroots soccer programs for our children to play, learn and grow stronger together in the spirit of soccer, good health and community!
