Formed in 1957; and participating in its first soccer season of 1958, the Hamilton Serbians provide a history of accomplishments and successes to its community over the decades. Although a difficult beginning for many immigrant Serbians, the Club succeeded in forming not only a team but a legacy.
By 1962, the initial founding Hamilton Serbians team was the League Champion and finalist for both the Spectator Cup and Ontario Cup titles. Over the years, the Club developed and as a whole has won 12 Spectator Cup Championship titles (1973, 1975, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1998, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014) along with two Ontario Cup championships (1982 & 1998). In the early 1980’s, the club won the Inter-City Soccer League title three years in a row.
After winning the Hamilton and District soccer League in 2003, the club joined the Ontario Soccer League and began competing in the OSL in 2004. In 2005, the Hamilton Serbians became the first Serbian club in Ontario to win the Ontario Regional Soccer League’s League Cup, (Frank Docherty Cup) and the Ontario Regional Soccer League’s League Championship in 2006, 2012, and 2013. The Hamilton Serbians also won the Ontario Provincial Cup Division title for 2007 and have been repeated finalists.
The North American Serbian Championship Tournament “Srbijada” awarded Hamilton Serbians as Tournament Champions two years in a row (2007 Vancouver, 2008 Hamilton).
